Tennis club rules and etiquette:
We are a pretty relaxed club, but out of consideration for fellow members, please follow these rules:
- Wait until a point is finished before crossing behind a court.
- Interclub matches always take precedence over any social tennis.
- Members should wear suitable tennis clothing. Vests are allowed but no shirtless playing.
- For your safety, proper tennis shoes or trainers must be worn. Sandals or hard soled shoes are not permitted.
- We ask people to mix in when joining club sessions, and to rotate after each set (first to 6 games) if other people are waiting to play. If agreed, rotate after a short set (first to 5 games) in winter.
- Floodlight tokens cost £3 per half hour. These can be bought from a committee member.
Read our full Constitution Rules.
Important notice:
- Always leave the main gate padlock locked and scrambled when you enter.
- Never share the main gate code with anyone you don’t know, even if you suspect they are also a member.
- You are responsible for any guests you bring to the club, and also responsible for collecting their guest fee if they play. Guests should be signed in on the online Guestbook.
- Always close and lock the gate when leaving the club if you are the last to leave.
Not following the above rules will result in a warning and recurrent behavior may lead to suspension of your membership. Please respect otghers and help to keep our club safe.
Guest Fees:
- Guests may play up to 6 occasions, when invited by another member, before joining as a member.
- Fee per guest is £5 per session.
- Members are responsible for the guests they bring and responsible for collecting and paying the fee.
- The member must also sign their guest in using our online Guestbook.
- The fee can be paid to a committee member or transferred directly to the club bank account. (See Membership page for details of the account).
- All Guest fees will be reimbursed if the guest later decides to become a member!
